Alasdair and his fiancée bought their first home together earlier this year. Their quirky new build property within a regenerated hospital was anything but off-the-shelf – so it made sense their blinds were made-to-measure too.
“We were very excited to buy a property within the heart of a regenerated 1930’s art deco hospital,” says Alasdair.
“Surrounded by grade A and B listed buildings, we wanted an ‘old meets new’ style in our home. We’re both from art and architecture backgrounds, so wanted to inject different textures into our home.
“When we first moved into our new build we felt like we were living in a goldfish bowl.”
So it was time to find blinds. Alasdair stumbled upon the Hillarys website, the Web-Blinds sister site. Knowing they could measure and fit the blinds themselves, they chose the DIY option and went with Web-Blinds.
“We were trying to achieve a simple, tonal palette of greys with splashes of yellow and orange to stand out. To keep the rooms clean and simple without the clutter of curtain rails we chose Perfect Fit blinds to make the most of our deep window sills.
“We also wanted to be able to open our French doors without drawing curtains or pulling endlessly at cords.”
And as Alasdair found out, that’s the beauty of Perfect Fit blinds. There’s no swaying in the breeze, no getting in the way, and plenty of room to make the most of expansive window sills.
“From start to finish, we’ve been very happy with the service, quality and finish,” says Alasdair. “The website offered short and effective videos on how to measure and fit the blinds. Having followed the guides, it took less than a couple of minutes per window to measure.
“Ordering was quick and simple and both orders arrived early which was great. Everything was packaged well and fitting was very quick and easy. You can’t ask for more than that!”
