Metallic shades never go out of style. So a silver Venetian blind was a smart choice for Douglas’ kitchen. Take a look at the gorgeous contemporary space.
Douglas and his family live in a new build home just outside Edinburgh. They loved the fact that meant they were able to make lots of the design choices themselves. Douglas explains..
“The home was new when we bought it, so we had the kitchen designed to our specifications,” says Douglas. “For a while, we had different blinds up at the window, also from Web-Blinds, but decided we’d like a change.
“We didn’t think about looking anywhere else. We decided we wanted something contemporary that would pick up the chrome handles on the kitchen cabinets. And we still wanted to keep the space light and bright, so knew a metal Venetian blind would be just the thing.”
“We craved a modern look which would easily allow us privacy as the kitchen is towards the front of the house.”
Metal finishes are a smart choice as they help to bounce the light around. And in the case of Douglas’ kitchen, it definitely ties in with the cool, contemporary space they’ve created. Douglas also drew on an age-old mantra…
“As the windows are tall, we wanted to make them appear broader by having horizontal, rather than vertical slats,” says Douglas – a bit like fashion tips we’ve heard from stylists like Gok Wan!
“Both measuring and fitting were incredibly straightforward. The website makes it so easy to be confident that you are doing the right thing. The blinds were with us really quickly, and the new blinds simply clipped into the existing fittings.
“We’ve also used Web-Blinds to buy blinds for our en-suite bathroom and our study. We wouldn’t go anywhere else!”
