Dulux’s Colour of the Year 2018 – Heart Wood

Have you spotted Dulux’s Colour of the Year 2018? It’s a taupey-mauvey-grey that everyone’s talking about and you won’t want to miss!

So here it is. Heart Wood. It’s warm and cosy and the perfect antidote to the chill that creeps in at this time of year. But Dulux reckon it’s much more than that – it’s the perfect basis on which to build a home. Here’s three ways we’d style it in ours.Dulux-ColourFutures--2018-Colour-of-The-Year-Heart-Wood-copy

1. Girlie chic

The warm undertones of Heart Wood mean it’s perfect for teaming with purples and pinks. This squidgy sofa is cosy with girlie shades – and gorgeous Roller blinds called Beautrice Mulberry at the window finish it off.

2. Statement shades

If too many sweet shades aren’t really your thing, try a striking contrast instead. We’ve chosen a zesty orange at the window here to contrast with the sludgy coloured sofa (and we mean sludgy in the best possible way). Bright pops of yellow and orange keep things feeling energetic and exciting.

3. Stylishly serene

On the other side of the scale, we’ve kept things calming in this bedroom. In fact, it’s so pristine, it’d be like waking up in a boutique hotel every morning. The mauve colour palette works brilliantly against crisp white walls, and that Roller blind has a blackout coating to help with a good night’s sleep. Perfect.

But enough from us – here’s how two of our fashion-forward customers used the colour palette in their homes. We told you they’re a stylish bunch.

John chose a gorgeous mauve similar to Heart Wood for his kitchen walls. The warm wood and the bright purple splashback are all topped off by a watercolour print Roller blind. It’s a bold look that’s sure to bring a smile to his face.

Hayley opted for a more desaturated take on the trend in her bedroom. With a bed that seems to go on for days and a tranquil colour scheme, it’s a seriously swoon-worthy space.
