First-time buyers Chelsea and Mark have made their house a real home. And they haven’t wasted any time! Take a look at just how gorgeous their modern bedroom and bathroom are.
“We moved in last October,” says Chelsea, “and within a week we had decorated the spare room, hallway, lounge and were halfway through decorating the main bedroom. We had curtains up in our bedroom but it wasn’t very private during the day. We felt very open and exposed.”
So it was time to search for some blinds. Luckily, Mum knew best when it came to window dressings.
“My parents have purchased blinds from Web-Blinds before and my Mum sent me the link for the website when we were deciding,” says Chelsea. “I ordered loads of samples and decided to go with the white Wooden blinds to match our headboard.
“Our window was too wide for one blind so we decided to make a design feature out of two. I had to phone customer services to double check how to adjust our measurements. I spoke to a really helpful man who told us to reduce the size by 2cm then halve the total width to get the correct size for each blind. We have a tiny gap in the middle of the blinds and I don’t think it could get much better than that!”
Then it was time to add the finishing touch to the bathroom too.
“The bathroom was originally blue with a purple and green blind… it didn’t go very well! We made it much more neutral, laid laminate flooring and chose a funky blind to go with the towels.
“The Web-Blinds service was brilliant and Mark found it really easy to put the blinds up. I was so happy they went up without any issues! The blind brought the bathroom to life. Everyone comments on how lovely they both are.”
After all the hard slog, Chelsea and Mark decided it was time for a short break.
“After four months of living in our first home together and all the decorating and late nights tidying up, we treated ourselves to a short break in New York. And on Valentine’s Day, Mark proposed in the middle of Central Park.
“It was made even more special when we came home to find that our parents had filled it with rose petals and confetti. All our knick-knacks and belongings have really come together to make our first house feel like a home.”
All together now – awwww. We love it when a plan comes together!
