We reckon every bedroom needs a blind. And when it comes to children’s bedrooms blinds, it’s even more important (no one wants their little one to wake up with the birds). Here are some top tips to help you choose blinds for your child’s bedroom, with inspiring pics from our customers’ homes.
Changing tastes
Blinds are a great choice for changing tastes. We all know kids can be fickle, so if you’re not ready to commit to four hot pink walls, then a blind is the perfect alternative. James chose a Barbie pink Venetian blind for his daughter’s window.
Blinds are also a great way to make a statement in a kids’ room if you’re renting. Not all landlords relish the idea of statement animal wallpaper, so compromise and choose a blind instead.
Introduce some fun
Kids’ rooms should be fun, and a blind is a great place to introduce it . Kate chose monsters for her son’s space, and topped it off with a lime green accent wall too – make a statement with the blind alone for renters.
Blackout fabrics
To take the room-darkening effect one step further, then try a blackout fabric. Customers Jayne and Sarah chose two different stylish fabrics for their little ones nurseries. Jayne opted for a starry number while Sarah delved into the woods for her inspiration.

Balance tastes
Colin’s son and daughter share a bedroom. But here’s the thing – little boys and girls don’t always agree when it comes to tastes. So he used a plain white blackout fabric at the window, and let them choose other things in the room, like soft toys and bed covers. That way, everyone’s happy (and the blind still has all the practical benefits).
