How to – get a boutique hotel feel in your home

Ever been to a boutique hotel and never wanted to leave? Us too. But you can get that same feeling at home with a few tips – and a little inspiration from some customers’ homes.

Bring in soft furnishings

The plump pillows and just-so bedding in Dan’s bedroom are just one way you can invite a little boutique hotel into your home. Dan mixed things up by having Fauxwood blinds at the window, creating a lovely blend of textures.

Go monochrome

Katy went for the ‘I-could-just-fall-into-bed-here’ feel up in her bedroom too. But it’s the colour palette we think makes it here. Crisp white walls and bedding contrast beautifully with a charcoal grey Roman blind. Remember, add a blackout lining to any of our Romans to help you get a good night’s sleep – just like at your fave hotel.

Fake it ‘til you make it

Justine’s super chic bathroom fakes two things. First thing – that stylish stone wall is wallpaper. Seriously convincing but so much easier to clean. Secondly, those Wooden blinds are actually Fauxwood, meaning they won’t warp in steamy conditions.

Total contrast

It’s no secret that lots of schemes keep things neutral, with greys, monochrome and taupe firm favourites (take a look at the images above if you don’t believe us). But if you’d like to take things a step further and go a little funkier, then make like Claire. She used a purple and green Roller blind to mix things up in her all-grey bathroom. The result is spa-like yet invigorating.

Go for shutters

For a little luxury in any room, go for shutters. Just like Kate, Sue chose crisp white bedding for her bedroom and white tier-on-tier shutters. This nifty design has two rows of panels that open independently of each other – great for when you’re getting dressed but don’t want to be plunged into darkness!
