How to keep kitchen blinds clean

We’re well versed at cleaning our kitchens – so don’t miss cleaning your kitchen blinds out of the routine. If you’re looking for easy ways to keep your kitchen blinds clean then take a look at our handy guide.

As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure, so cleaning little and often is the best way to go. As much as we don’t like to think about it, grease and moisture can build up in kitchens, so don’t wait until you’ve layers on your blind! Give them a quick wipe often and hey presto! Things aren’t such a chore anymore.

Blinds with horizontal slats

If you’ve Wooden or Venetian blinds in your kitchen, listen up. This handy little blind cleaner makes the whole thing oh-so easy and you can get yours right here. Simply clamp the three prongs around two slats and cleaning’s as easy as 1-2-3. That little micro fibre sleeve is removable too, so you can bung it in the washing machine when you’re done.

Perfect Fit blinds

If you’ve Perfect Fit blinds at your patio doors, you’ll notice there are a few places where dust might build up. The crevice tool on your vacuum cleaner is great for the bottom ridges, while a damp cloth will get rid of any marks on the frame.

As for the blinds themselves, clean Venetians with the handy blind cleaner as above, or with a clean cloth. For Pleated blinds, use the upholstery attachment, being careful not to put too much pressure on any pleats.

Other blinds

For Roller and Vertical blinds, a clean slightly damp cloth is a good tool. Some of our Vertical blinds can be machine washed – contact our customer service team if you’re unsure.

To keep Roman blinds looking spic and span, clean with the upholstery attachment of your vacuum cleaner.
