Kate moved into her new build home two-and-a-half years ago and although cream everything served a purpose, it was time to inject a little colour into her space.
“We really like modern, clean lines and bright and airy spaces,” says Kate. “But when we moved in the whole house was painted cream and although it was to our taste, it was a little bland. We have been slowly freshening up each room, adding accessories as we go.
“We have a number of other Roman blinds in the house and have used Web-Blinds before so knew they had a really good selection of patterns and colours. The room is very neutral, but we have bright orange towels to add some colour, so wanted a blind with a hint of the shade to bring the room together.
“We ordered swatches just in case. It’s such a great option to have free of charge. Once the order was placed the email updates let me know the order was on its way, and the blinds arrived well-packaged and sooner than expected.”
Kate fitted her blind outside of the recess – it’s a great tip to help a small window like hers look bigger, and to make larger scale patterns work on little windows. Fitting it slightly above the top of the window avoids blocking too much light too.
“Because the blind is fitted outside of the recess, the measuring didn’t have to be totally exact. I measured to give a nice overlap each side and made sure I had the correct drop. My husband had the blinds in my en-suite and another room up and fitted within ten minutes!”
Wow Kate – now that is speedy.
