Okay, we know it’s still November. But when it comes to getting organised, November is the new December. Here’s some things to tick off the to-do list now – with Christmas around the corner you’ll thank yourself later.
Choose a scheme
Sometimes life gets in the way, and rooms can lack design direction. Now’s your chance to rein it in. Choose a colour you love and gather accessories in the shade – can you tell it’s teal in this room? Get rid of unnecessary clutter that’s built up and move anything that shouldn’t be there. Your busy December self will thank you when the guests descend.
Go practical where it matters
Kitchens are the hub of the Christmas home, so make sure yours is ready. Clear out the cupboards, getting rid of anything out of date or you haven’t used in the past year.
Open shelving is a handy trend that keeps everything at your fingertips so consider a couple of shelves if you haven’t got them already. And if you’ve a window behind your sink, opt for a splash-friendly solution like a Fauxwood blind.
Get cosied up
The kitchen might be where the magic happens, but the living room is the place to slob out post-roast. So things have got to be comfy and inviting.
