Vickie makes Grace’s playroom the place to be

Every child dreams of a playroom. And Vickie’s daughter Grace’s space is something quite special. Take a step inside.

Little Grace has something a lot of us don’t have – an interior designer for a Mum. So it’s no wonder that her playroom looks so fab.

“We have a cosy family home and love having people over for dinner and parties,” says Vickie of Interior Therapy. “We like to have a social house!”

But of course, with kids comes lots of toys. So Grace’s playroom was the ideal place to banish the clutter (in the most beautiful way, of course).

“I decided to update the room to make it more in keeping with the rest of the house. Before, it had more of a traditional feel with plain walls and less storage, and I wanted to make it more fun as a playroom.

“I fell in love with the wallpaper and had to use it somewhere! As it’s so eye-catching, I wanted this to be the focal point so used it on the main wall. I added colour with accessories and prints.”

Vickie had wanted the cult favourite ‘For Like Ever’ print for ages, and it worked perfectly in the girly but slightly punky space. The new storage contains all the toys while still leaving enough room to play in peace. And just look at that dressing up rail!

“As the wallpaper was quite bold, I wanted a blind to work with the room but not be the main focus. A plain black fabric added a great contrast to the white walls and tied in with the paper,” says Vickie.

“My father-in-law helped with the measuring and fitting – I’m better at the creative part than that practical jobs!”

The result is a room that Vickie hopes will be used for years to come and will grow with her daughter. We can definitely see Grace loving this cool for, for like, ever.
